Dock Staff

We are looking to add a customer-focused team member to our dock staff. We are looking for friendly and upbeat individuals to greet customers and work on the docks. This position is Part-time or Full-time and requires availability on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards

  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs

  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation

  • Make and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette

  • Manage the check-in and check-out process

  • Perform equipment checks to make sure all necessary equipment is on board

  • Daily clerical work to prepare reservation logs, fuel logs and weather reports

  • Familiarize yourself with local waters in order to provide basic guidance to customers

  • Speak with others using clear and professional language

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional

  • Follow all company policies and procedures

  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information

  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors

 

Qualifications:

  • Pass a background check

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

  • High school diploma

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Experience in or around boats is required

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity

  • Ability to read and manipulate handheld tablets

  • Comfortable with physical demands of the role including bending, kneeling, balancing and carrying equipment up to 25 pounds

  • Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised

  • Adhere to all safety policies

Dock Master

The Dock Master is responsible for overseeing and supervising the Resort’s Marina and storage area which includes 40 wet slips. The Dock Master, along with the Dock Attendant, is responsible for serving the marina customers and guests while maintaining the cleanliness of the marina. The ideal candidate is expected to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the smooth running of the marina and when necessary to stand-in for other members of staff to the best of his/her ability.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Oversee the placement of all boats to ensure the maximization of each slip is utilized.

  • Ensure the Docks are consistently monitored for safety and efficiency purposes.

  • Maintains open communication with General Manager, Assistant General Manager and associates at all times.

  • Ensure a successful partnership with the Maintenance and Front Desk teams to ensure the arrival experience is seamless for all guests.

  • Provide the highest level of customer and guest services, expedite any and all requests, delivery of provisions and packages.

  • Carry out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina-related operations; ensure that standards are maintained and that quality and delivery commitments are met.

  • Perform marina-related duties such as securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (power and water).

  • Routinely operate motor and water vehicles and various other mechanized equipment. Provide general security; report disturbances in dock area and maintain general vigilance.

  • Provide service to marina and facility guests and carry out routine marina maintenance.

  • Comply with instructions or duties as may be reasonably assigned.

  • Make reservations and check in marina guest.

  • Manage difficult customer situations; Respond promptly to customer needs; Solicit customer feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance;

  • Meet commitments Assists, coach & mentor other associate members as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pass a background check.

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Adhere to all safety policies

  • Must have experience driving, tying up and maintaining boats.

  • Experience in hospitality & Marinas preferred.

  • This position requires the candidate to spend 90% off his or her work day in the outdoor Marina location. Must be able to tolerate hot, humid work conditions.

Command of the English language both written and verbal. Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to work beyond standard hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the guests’ needs. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
